Maori Language week

This week is Maori language week and this week Mr Dyers old school Manurewa Intermediate performed for us and we split up in 2 groups (boys with boys and girls with girls) and the boys learnt the haka and girls learnt how to sing a waiata, which we then performed in front of LH 2,4 and the boys won because they were very loud at doing the haka. Maori language week and has been going on for over 40 years now and this week we learnt how to sign and say 1-10 in Maori.

    Hi Jessica,
    Do you think the boys won only because they were loud? I enjoyed the waiata the girls did too! What other words did you learn in Maori? What was your favourite activity?
